I have an affinity for vintage bags. I own a couple but am always on the look out for a few more.  I found these on Etsy and thought they were fabulous. Thoughts???

Date Night - Foodie Style

Once in a while K and I will treat ourselves to a nice dinner date.  Last night was one such occasion. We sought out an independently owned restaurant with a gourmet menu. We found Currents located not that far from the house and they specialize in a farm-to-table/market-to-table concept. The chefs are young, inventive and very skilled.

I felt a bit overwhelmed by the menu, only because so much of it looked appealing.  We settled on the "Starters" menu and enjoyed the Lobster and Crab Bisque, then salads. Rather than get entrees we opted to get a Brie and Apple Salsa flat bread and Prosciutto Wrapped Shrimp. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted fabulous.

I kept driving by and thinking what an elegant restaurant it appeared to be. I wasn't wrong. The atmosphere was cozy and romantic.  It was dimly lit with a neutral pallet and just enough character.  I loved the big picture windows outlined with lights.  If it hadn't been for those windows I would not have suggested we try Currents.

this doesn't really do it justice....

We can't rave about it enough. Apparently, we are not alone. They were listed as one of the Top 50 restaurants in the Bay Area and will be reviewed in Tampa Bay Magazine.

If you are in the area I highly recommend them for a wonderful date night.

Hockey Season.....

We became Lightning season ticket holders this year and have been very busy attending games.  It's been enjoyable, thanks in part to a forty million dollar face lift paid for by the new owner.

This year the organization  revamped the entire arena, creating a much more fan friendly environment.  There is a new entry, Suites were renovated and lighting was updated.  They lured season ticket members by giving them jerseys with a discount chip sewn in the the sleeve. We get 25% off food and merchandise. The best perk is pre-sale tickets for other events, like Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band.

My favorite upgrade by far has to be the installation of the Tesla Coils.  They were installed from the ceiling at both ends of the arena, right near the goal nets.  Every time a Lightning player scores a goal the coils go off with streams of lightning. You can hear the sizzle over the roar of the crowd.  It truly is a unique celebratory part of the game.

Yes, we have seats in the upper deck.  They were cheap and we get a better view of the game.  I like to follow the puck and see the play unfold.  I am not that into watching players get boarded right in front of me.

Friday Finds - Cocktail rings

Cocktail rings seem to be a staple amongst the celebrity crowd and other fashionistas.  They add just the right amount of sparkle and are an easy statement piece to flaunt.  I can see why they are popular.

Personally, I am not one to wear much more than my wedding band and diamond, but more than a few cocktail rings have caught my eye.  I could be enticed to don a bit of bling.  Check out these beauties......
This one would be great with a white oxford, collar popped of course,  a pair of  jeans and your favorite flats.
